Green Tea Ice Cream Recipe
Ice cream with a green tea flavor
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup water
- 4 green tea bags
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup half and half
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
Instructions
- In a medium pot, heat the water to boiling.
- Add the green tea bags, remove the pot from heat and let it steep for 5 to 7 minutes.
- Remove the tea bags, squeezing them against the side of the pot with a spoon to get all of the liquid out.
- Simmer over medium low heat for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the liquid is reduced by half.
- Remove from heat and add the half-and-half and the sugar.
- Let the mixture chill for a least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- Beat the whipping cram until soft peaks form and then fold in the green tea mixture.
- Freeze in an ice cream maker, following manufacturer's directions
