Green Tea Ice Cream

Yield: 4 servings

Green Tea Ice Cream

Ice cream with a green tea flavor

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup water
  • 4 green tea bags
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. In a medium pot, heat the water to boiling.
  2. Add the green tea bags, remove the pot from heat and let it steep for 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Remove the tea bags, squeezing them against the side of the pot with a spoon to get all of the liquid out.
  4. Simmer over medium low heat for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the liquid is reduced by half.
  5. Remove from heat and add the half-and-half and the sugar.
  6. Let the mixture chill for a least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  7. Beat the whipping cram until soft peaks form and then fold in the green tea mixture.
  8. Freeze in an ice cream maker, following manufacturer's directions
