Garlic Green Beans Recipe
Green beans with carrots, garlic and olive oil
Ingredients
- 1 pound green beans, blanched
- 1/2 cup shredded carrots
- 1 tablespoon garlic, freshly chopped
- 2 tablespoons light olive oil
- 2 oz unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
- 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- To blanch the beans, immerse them in boiling salted water for 3 minutes, then drain thoroughly and immerse in ice water until chilled.
- Drain beans.
- Get a saute pan hot.
- Add the olive oil to the pan.
- When the oil is hot add the garlic and cook for 20 seconds.
- Add the butter.
- Next add the green beans and carrots.
- Cook for 5 minutes or until desired doneness has been reached.
- You may add a tablespoon of water to the pan every minute or so to keep the beans from browning.
- Finish by adding the salt and pepper.
