Onion Tart

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • 1 1/4 lbs Yellow Onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 Eggs, well-beaten
  • 2 tbsp Heavy Cream
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Tart Shells

Instructions

  1. Heat butter in a saute pan until melted.
  2. Add onions and saute over medium heat until they are golden caramel brown color.
  3. Add sugar halfway through the cooking process.
  4. Remove from heat and chill to cool.
  5. While onions are cooling, beat the eggs with heavy cream and add the salt.
  6. Combine the egg mixture with the cooled onions.
  7. Divide onion mixture between tart shells, filling them so that they are slightly rounded in the center.
  8. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
