Baked Ravioli Recipe
Baked ravioli
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small yellow onion, minced
- 2 large tomatoes, diced small
- 15-oz can tomato sauce
- 4 Tbsp tomato paste
- 2 Tbsp dried basil
- 2 Tbsp dried oregano
- 2 Tbsp dried garlic
- Coarse salt, to taste
- Freshly ground pepper, to taste
- 2 cups red wine or beef stock
- 1 lb store-bought frozen ravioli, defrosted in refrigerator
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in large skillet or pot over medium-high heat.
- Add sausage and ground beef, breaking up with a wooden spoon, until meat starts to brown.
- Add garlic and onion, stirring occasionally, until meat is cooked through.
- Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce and tomato paste. Bring to a simmer.
- Stir in basil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, pepper and red wine or beef stock.
- Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- In bottom on 9x13-inch pan, pour 2 cups of sauce.
- Cover with layer of ravioli.
- Pour remaining sauce on top.
- Sprinkle with cheeses.
- Bake 30 minutes, or until cheese is melted and golden.
